I agree with the previous comments that explaining what each of the symbols mean would be good. And perhaps you could expand on what you mean by "political reasons" in Iraq. Also, I think including "current developments" in your map would be interesting, since I'm pretty sure that McDonald perpetually tries to maximize their number of outlets.
Good map, but you might describe what the lines coming from Oak Brook, Illinois and ending in Africa, Cuba, and Nicaragua are about.
